Every year, the developers at San Diego Studio find new ways to make the MLB The Show video game a more realistic and immersive baseball experience. The latest version – MLB The Show 22, which is scheduled to be released April 5 – raises the bar even further with features such as expanded cross-platform capability, more than 150 playable Legends, a brand-new commentary team and more.
This year's installment comes with a few advantages, one being that MLB The Show 22 will be purchasable upon the official launch on April 5. The other is an offer for Game Pass members to pick up the game while in its early access stage at a reduced price compared to purchasing the game at full cost.
The first way to play MLB The Show 22 four days early is by purchasing the MVP edition of the video game. The MVP Edition will cost you $84.99 and is only available on PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles. If you plan on getting MLB The Show 22 on Nintendo Switch, this first option is not going to help you play the game four days early. However, the second option that is available will allow you to play it four days early even if you have a Nintendo Switch.
MLB The Show 22 will also have new voices calling the action: play-by-play announcer Jon “Boog” Sciambi and color analyst Chris Singleton. The duo, who called baseball games together on ESPN Radio for a decade, contributed 350 hours and approximately 45,000 lines of dialogue as part of MLB The Show 22’s entirely new commentary system.
Real-life broadcast audio from MLB games called by Sciambi and Singleton is also in the game in order to give it a more authentic experience.
MLB The Show 22 releases on April 5 for PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
